Thembi scoops Caf Nomination
Pretoria - The South African senseational midfielder of Randfontein in Gauteng Ms. Thembi Kgatlana has been nominated for the CAF African Women of the Year. Ms. Kgatlana is a student at the University of the Western Cape and has been part of the USSA National Women’s Team that ended fourth at the 29th Summer Universiade in Chinese Taipei. Ms. Kgatlana played an instrumental role in the success of the USSA Womens National Team. She is also part of the Banyana Banyana National team that won the COSAFA Championships.
She was awarded as the player and top goal scorer of the tournament at the recent USSA Football National Championships that were held at the University of Johannesburg. The President of USSA Mrs. Ilhaam Groenewald congratulated Ms. Kgatlana on her nomination and that USSA as an organization remains proud of its contribution in the development of sport in our tertiary institutions. The awards are scheduled to take place on the 04 January 2018 in Accra, Ghana.
